MOSCOW, August 16. /TASS/. The ruble-denominated MOEX Russia Index surpassed 2,200 points on Moscow Exchange on Tuesday for the first time since August 1. According to the trading data as of 2:17 pm Moscow time, the index gained 1.62% to 2,200.11 points.

By 2:32 pm the MOEX Index slowed down growth to 1.42% trading at 2,195.84 points, while the dollar-denominated RTS was up by 1.37% at 1,128.15 points.

Meanwhile the dollar exchange rate was up by 0.16% at 61.32 rubles, the euro was down by 0.22% at 62.21 rubles.
