- Ferda Ataman, Germany’s recently appointed anti-discrimination commissioner warned of the enduring problem of inequity in the country, as she revealed details of the official annual report focusing on the issue.
- Of the total of 5,617 cases of discrimination reported to the ADS, 37% were related to racial discrimination, 32% to disability and chronic diseases 20% related to gender and 10% to age discrimination, 9% of related to religion and belief, and 4% to sexual identity.
- It was the basis for setting up the agency Ataman now heads.
