MOSCOW, August 22. /TASS/. The ruble weakened against the dollar and strengthened against the euro compared with previous closing as foreign currency trading started on Moscow Exchange on Monday.

As of 10:14 am Moscow time the dollar exchange rate was up by 0.58% at 59.44 rubles, while the euro exchange rate was down by 0.21% at 59.47 rubles. As trading opened on Moscow Exchange the dollar exchange rate rose by 0.22% to 59.23 rubles, while the euro exchange rate was almost flat at 59.6 rubles.

As of 10:14 am the MOEX Index was up by 0.34% at 2,202.52 points, while the dollar-denominated RTS Index was down by 0.29% at 1,167.20 points. As trading opened the MOEX Index slipped by 0.09% to 2,193.29 points, while the dollar-denominated RTS Index fell by 0.13% to 1,169.09 points.
