MOSCOW, August 23. /TASS/. Russian exchange indexes ended the trading day on Tuesday with the upward trend. The ruble-denominated MOEX Russia Index grew by 1.43% to 2,260.08 points at the close of today's trade on the Moscow Exchange. The dollar-denominated RTS index added 1.39% and climbed to 1,190.16 points.

The dollar gained 0.02% against the ruble to 59.89 rubles. The euro edged upward by 0.1% and amounted to 59.58 rubles.

Brent oil futures moved up on the London's ICE to $99.76 per barrel (up 3.4%).

"Growing purchases of blue chips was observed in general amid the positive sentiment, associated in particular with conditions to release assets of Russian investors in foreign depositories announced by the European Commission last week. Meanwhile, preliminary estimates of production and service PMIs in the Eurozone and in the US were largely released below forecasts," Alexander Bakhtin from BCS Investment World said.

The MOEX Russia Index is likely to be within 2,150-2,270 points tomorrow, BCS Investment World forecasts.
