- On the other side of the political spectrum, Enrico Letta’s Democratic Party (PD), which is polling closely behind the far-right Brothers of Italy, spoke of accelerating the construction of regasification plants for imports of liquified natural gas (LNG), “the use of which seems necessary” in the context of falling gas supplies from Russia.
- To this end, Letta proposes a national plan for energy savings and actions aimed at drastically increasing the share of renewables produced in Italy, also through the development of citizen-led energy communities.
