KALININGRAD, August 26. /TASS-DEFENSE/. The countersubversion unit of the Baltic fleet held a tactical exercise to stop a violator boat and seize it in the Gulf of Finland, the fleet said.
"The unit trained to counter the violators of the navigation regime in the Gulf of Finland and fired machineguns at sea and coastal targets," it said.
The unit on patrol boats blocked the violator and boarded the boat. The violator rendered resistance and combat swimmers assaulted the boat and engaged weapons.
"Besides, the unit prevented a breakthrough of underwater swimmers to warships of the fleet. It trained underwater combat with SPP-1 pistols, underwater APS rifles, and cold steel," the fleet said.
The exercise engaged several dozen swimmers, Grachonok and Raptor-class boats, and robotic equipment to monitor the underwater situation. The patrol boats fired 14.5 mm machineguns and 7.62 mm Pecheneg machineguns at sea and coastal targets near Moshchny Island. All the targets were destroyed.
