- Austrian climate minister Leonore Gewessler criticised the decision to put the Mochovce 3 plan near the country’s border into operation after several mishaps and mismanagement incidents became known.
- The commissioning of the Slovak nuclear power plant, located about 200 kilometres from Vienna and 100km from the Austrian border, was confirmed on Thursday by the head of the Slovak Nuclear Supervisory Authority (UJD), Marta Ziakova.
- No nuclear energy is generated in Austria, and the country has set itself the task of fighting against the new construction and expansion of nuclear power plants in its neighbouring countries.
