Russian stocks down as main session begins on Friday

MOSCOW, September 23. /TASS/. Russia's stock market went down at the beginning of the main session on Moscow Exchange on Friday, according to trading data.

As of 10:33 am Moscow time the MOEX Index was down by 1.9% at 2,149.24 points, while the dollar-denominated RTS Index was down by 2.31% at 1,147.46 points. As trading opened the MOEX edged up by 0.06% to 2,192.11 points, while the RTS lost 0.55% to 1,168.13 points.

The dollar exchange rate was up by 0.22% at 58.97 rubles, while the euro exchange rate was down by 0.39% at 57.39 rubles. As of 10:00 am Moscow the dollar exchange rate against the ruble rose by 0.59% to 59.19 rubles, while the euro exchange added 0.98% to 58.18 rubles.
