MOSCOW, September 26. /TASS-DEFENSE/. The Kalashnikov AK-19 rifle for NATO 5.56x45 mm cartridges triggered lively interest of foreign customers, Kalashnikov President Alan Lushnikov told TASS.
AK-19 was developed from AK-12, which has been operated by the Russian army since 2018. It has Picatinni rails, a telescopic buttstock, a new dioptric sight, a silencer and flame arrester. The rifle was produced for export. AK-19 operates reliably day and night in hot and humid climate and is easy to service.
AK-19 debuted at Army-2020 forum and at IDEX-2021 in Abu Dhabi.
