NOVO-OGAREVO, October 6. /TASS/. Sanctions against Russia are expected to intensify and the economy should flexibly react to that, President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday at the meeting on economic matters.

"It is important to understand that the sanction pressure on Russia will only become stronger. There is a need to have flexible and efficient action plans in this connection, estimated for the near term and the midterm, and they should be implemented consistently," the Russian leader said.

The head of state ordered the government and the Central Bank to ensure consistent recovery of macroeconomic dynamics in Russia.
