- The national oil company of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has delivered a first shipment of ammonia derived from hydrogen to Hamburg.
- The UAE aims for a 25% share of the global hydrogen market by 2030, while German industry is looking at hydrogen to decarbonise its energy-intensive production processes.
- The “hydrogen” was shipped in the form of 13 tonnes of ammonia, filling up a storage container the size of a standardised twenty-foot equivalent unit, the usual size of shipping containers.
