  • Poland could increase sentences for espionage on behalf of a foreign state from 10 years to 25 years imprisonment.
  • The new bill, however, ups the sentence to up to 25 years – which, apart from life imprisonment, is the harshest punishment provided for by the Polish Criminal Code.
  • Sentences for providing sensitive information to foreign intelligence and directing a spy network on Polish territory will also be increased – from eight years in prison to life imprisonment and from 10 years to life imprisonment, respectively.
