- German NGO Sea Watch has accused the Libyan Coastguard of threatening to shoot down a migrant monitoring plane in Malta’s Search and Rescue (SAR) zone earlier this week.
- An incident referred to in the report detailed when four boats carrying around 250 migrants were spotted in Malta’s SAR zone in April 2020.
- The report noted that “the Maltese Authorities did not cooperate with Frontex in the search and rescue operations, nor provided Frontex with information about the exact locations of the boats following the detection”.
