- Russia’s state-owned atomic energy company ROSATOM, which is implementing the Dabaa nuclear power plant project, Egypt’s first nuclear project, has received a construction permit to begin building the second unit of the power plant.
- Egypt’s Nuclear Power Plants Authority (NPPA) completed its procedures over the course of two years by submitting a preliminary safety analysis report for the first and second units.
- The authority “has taken the radiological and radiological procedures necessary to verify the availability of the maximum levels of safety for the nuclear project in El-Dabaa in accordance with the highest international standards”.
