  • On June 8-9, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese President, paid a two-day state visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), his first to the neighboring country in seven years and his first overseas trip this year.
  • China stands ready to work with the DPRK to preserve and properly manage the memorial facilities dedicated to the Chinese People’s Volunteers martyrs in the DPRK, carry out distinctive programs on revolutionary traditions and youth education, and pass on the red legacy and traditional friendship between the two countries, he noted.
  • Xi’s visit was of great significance to bilateral relations and the future development of the region, Kim noted, adding that the DPRK stands ready to earnestly implement the important consensus reached during the visit, promote new tangible outcomes in bilateral cooperation, and advance DPRK-China relations to a new and higher level.
