A great musical story for children from three to six years of age: on Saturday, 8 June 2019, the Junge Oper im Nord (the young opera in the north or JOiN for short) will be giving a guest performance at the Mercedes-Benz Museum. With showtimes at 2 pm and 3.30 pm, “The Lamb Who Came for Dinner” is based on the children’s book of the same name by Steve Smallman, Joëlle Dreidemy and Therese Hochhuth. Advance ticket sales begin on 8 April 2019 at the Staatstheater Stuttgart box office or by phone: +49 (0) 711 20 20 90.

Stuttgart. The hungry wolf is just preparing his traditional stew when a lamb suddenly appears outside his door. The wolf is totally confused: what do you do if your dinner smiles at you sweetly and falls into your lap? In the end there is a really excellent vegetable stew.

This beautiful story about friendship and responsibility based on the book of the same name by Steve Smallman, Joëlle Dreidemy and Therese Hochhuth has already inspired a lot of children. This seat cushion concert was already in the Staatsoper Stuttgart programme from November 2018 to February 2019, and will now have two further performances on 8 June 2019 in the Casino on level 8 of the Mercedes-Benz Museum at 2 pm and 3.30 pm. The two institutions are thereby continuing their cooperation.

The performances will each last 30 minutes. Half an hour before the start of the concert, there will be a craftwork session with the piece as its theme. After the concerts, young visitors can learn about the instruments used: musicians Lars Jakob (bass) and Manuel Schattel (bass) will describe the instruments and invite the children to try them out.

Tickets cost 5 euros for children and 10 euros for adults. They are available directly from the Staatstheater Stuttgart box office, by phone on +49 (0) 711 20 20 90 or at the museum box office. Tickets to the concert include admission to the museum on the same day: those who wish can explore the permanent exhibition at the Mercedes-Benz Museum with 160 vehicles and a total of around 1,500 exhibits. The concert ticket also includes free parking in the Museum’s multistorey car park or in multistorey car park P 4 opposite.
