Bosnia and Herzegovina and Gazprom agree to start gas supply project this fall

BELGRADE, June 8 (TASS)  The authorities of Republika Srpska (one of the two political entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Russia’s Gazprom have agreed to supply gas to the entity. The project will be launched this fall, TV channel RTRS reported on Saturday.

According to the report, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska Zeljka Cvijanovic and Chairman of Gazprom’s Management Committee Alexey Miller agreed to lay gas to Republika Srpska. The gas infrastructure development will start this fall: a section of the TurkStream pipeline will be built in Republika Srpska.

The meeting also focused on the gas infrastructure development of Republika Srpska’s capital, Banja Luka, and the construction of a gas thermal power plant in the republic. Dodik earlier stated that Republika Srpska is going to build a TurkStream branch on its territory, from Bijeljina to Banja Luka.
