The VR Arles Festival was co-founded by BNP Paribas, Fisheye and Rencontres d’Arles
The festival is now an unmissable date in the Virtual Reality calendar.
For this fourth year, the VR Arles Festival will give leading virtual reality artists the chance to talk in a full programme:
* 20 works/films shown to the public
* one day of conferences
* workshops for children
* a writing workshop.
An international jury
During the opening week, an international jury, chaired by the multiple award-winning actress Charlotte Rampling, awarded various prizes to the selected works. The eight members of the jury brought all their expertise and vision on cinema, communication, image, art and techniques: Charlotte Rampling (actress), Renaud Grand-Clément (Le Point), Christopher Miles (Le Palais de Tokyo), Paolo Moretti (Directors’ Fortnight), Alia Ouabdesselam (BNP Paribas), Vincent Perez (actor and director), Céline Tricart (VR director) and Yukiko Yamagata (Open Society Foundation).

The VR Arles Festival jury, chaired by actress Charlotte Rampling, has awarded four experiences from the official selection of the VR Arles Festival.
Discussion organised by BNP Paribas about the festival
* A panel discussion was organised on financing virtual reality works, led by BNP Paribas, with Bertrand Cizeau (BNP Paribas Head of Communications), Elisha Karmitz (mk2), Céline Tricart (Lucid Dreams Productions) and Perrine Vincent (CNC). Where are we, three years on from the launch of the first Oculus headset? How is creation financed and what distribution and dissemination practices have been put in place? What are the results and what’s the outlook? Overview in the company of experts in the field.
* In addition, from this year, BNP Paribas supports the 1000 Visages association, which promotes the democratisation of art and more specifically cinema. Five young people from the association are invited to the festival so they can make “feedback” videos, take part in dedicated meetings and discover the festival’s VR experiences.
