MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. Sales of Russia's truck manufacturer Kamaz on domestic market decreased by 6.7% year-on-year in 2019 to 30,504 trucks, the company said in a quarterly report.
"According to the results of 2019, Kamaz sold 30,504 trucks in the truck market of the Russian Federation, which is 6.7% less than in 2018 (32 684 trucks in 2018)," the report says.
The report attributed the decline in sales in 2019 mainly to that that the Russian market of trucks with a gross weight of over 14 tonnes has shrunk by 2.2% compared to 2018.
According to the adopted business plan for 2020, the company expects to sell 29,000 trucks in the Russian market. At the same time, Kamaz expects to occupy a 46% share in the Russian truck market in 2020.
Kamaz Group, the largest automobile corporation in Russia, produces trucks, trailers, buses, tractors, engines, power units, and different tools. Its main shareholders are the state-owned Rostec corporation (49.9%), Avtoinvest (23.54%), and the German auto concern Daimler (15%).
