CHISINAU, September 20. /TASS/. Moldovagaz and Gazprom have reached a preliminary agreement to extend the current gas supplies contract for several years, Moldovan President Igor Dodon told reporters on Friday.
"As far as I understand Gazprom has a wish to extend the current agreement for several years, there exists a preliminary agreement," he said.
Asked about supplies to Moldova through Ukraine considering the unsolved transit issue, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak said that he sees no risks.
"We are quite optimistic to say that there will be supplies. We are tackling the issue of extending the contract with the Republic of Moldova. It was discussed last week, there was a meeting with representatives of Ukraine. We realize that there are no major risks for gas transit through Ukraine," he explained.
