SOCHI, December 4. /TASS/. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that he had received assurances from Russian President Vladimir Putin that Belgrade would always be able to purchase the necessary volumes of gas.
"I received the assurances of Russian President Mr. Putin and Mr. [Chairman of the Gazprom Board Alexei] Miller that we can buy additional gas volumes from the territory of other countries, so that we can have certainty for the first and second quarter of next year, regardless of how negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will develop," he said at a press conference following talks with Putin on Wednesday.
"Now I feel calmer, I can't even hide my smile. Thank you, President Putin, thank you, our Russian friends for this," Vucic added.
Earlier, the Serbian leader expressed concern that due to the complicated relations between Moscow and Kiev, gas supplies to his country could be in jeopardy.
