MOSCOW, May 14. /TASS/. Rosneft's total refining throughput amounted to 26.4 mln tonnes in Q1 2021, up by 2.1% compared with Q4 2020, and down by 8.3% year-on-year, Russia's oil major reported on Friday.

Oil refining throughput at the company's refineries in Russia increased by 4.5% quarter-on-quarter to 24.1 mln tonnes against a backdrop of rising demand for petroleum products and decreased by 7.2% year-on-year due to an incomplete demand recovery to the levels preceding the introduction of the pandemic-related restrictions, Rosneft said.

Meanwhile, oil refining throughput at the refineries in Germany went down by 17.5% in the reporting period quarter-on-quarter due to the repeated lockdown in the country due to the COVID-19 pandemic followed by a drop in the demand for petroleum products.

Moreover, the company exceeded the required quotas for exchange-traded motor fuel sales on the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange by more than two times in the period. "Rosneft actively trades at the Exchange consistently meeting the needs of the domestic market of the Russian Federation," the oil producer said.
