  • One of the oldest coal-fired power plants in New South Wales was partly demolished today as Lithgow’s skyline changed forever.
  • One of the central west city’s most iconic symbols, the chimney towers of the old Wallerawang station, disappeared in a 15-second explosion.
  • Lithgow is in the face of a transition away from jobs in the fossil fuel industry, confirmed when Energy Australia brought forward the closure of the region’s other power station to 2040.
