At joint secretary level, only woman candidate drops out

  • The Centre’s radical move to bring in private sector talent to the Government of India at joint secretary level has seen its first dropout.
  • Kakoli Ghosh, agriculture specialist from Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations , who was selected to join as a joint secretary in the ministry of agriculture, has now opted out.
  • It has started the process with appointing outside experts to 10 positions of Joint Secretary in identified Ministries/Departments and intends to follow up with 40 positions at Deputy Secretary/Director level.
