Export flight takes away 121 Russian and CIS citizens from Cambodia

HANOI, May 23. /TASS/. An export flight of Rossiya Airlines took away 126 citizens of Russia and the CIS countries from Cambodia on Saturday, the Russian Embassy in that country told TASS.

Earlier those people were not able to leave the kingdom after the suspension of regular flights due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"On May 23, at 01:35 local time (9:35pm Moscow time on May 22) 121 Russian citizens left Cambodia on the FV6698 Russia's export flight following the Phnom Penh - Novosibirsk - Moscow route," the embassy noted.

The diplomatic mission also said that, besides Russians, three citizens of Belarus, one citizen of Kyrgyzstan and one citizen of Moldova (total 126 people) had departed from Phnom Penh.

Employees of the Russian Embassy in Cambodia were at the airport and provided passengers with all the necessary assistance in resolving issues related to check-in and receiving boarding passes.

Earlier an Aeroflot flight, specially organized for the return of Russians from the UAE, arrived at St. Petersburg airport, according to the Pulkovo airport online scoreboard.

According to Aeroflot's website, flight number SU 0521 was supposed to fly from Dubai Airport at 3:55 pm (2:55 pm Moscow time) local time, but it departed with a delay of more than four hours - at 8:17 pm (7:17 pm Moscow time). The press service of the Pulkovo airport management company Northern Air Gate told TASS that 42 people returned to in St. Petersburg. All arriving from abroad in Pulkovo will be tested for coronavirus and receive a ruling requiring them to stay on mandatory self-isolation for 14 days.
