SOFIA, August 2. /TASS/. Doctors in Bulgaria registered 146 new coronavirus cases in the past day, 124 fewer versus a day earlier, the Health Ministry's official portal reported on Sunday after receiving data of 3,955 PCR tests.
Bulgaria's total caseload reached 11,836, including among 684 medical workers. In the past day two patients died and since the start of the pandemic the death toll has hit 385. Some 6,396 people have recovered. There are 793 patients in hospitals now, with 43 of them in intensive care.
The country's hospitals are facing the lack of medical personnel.
Bulgaria reported its first coronavirus cases on March 8. The authorities declared a state of emergency on March 13 until May 14. Now there is a state of emergency epidemiological situation in Bulgaria, which was extended until the end of August. Social distancing and wearing face masks is compulsory in indoor public places and on transport.
