MOSCOW, November 26. /TASS/. Russian coronavirus vaccine producers intend to boost output many-fold starting January 2021, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said in an interview with TASS.

"As of November, 500,000 doses are to be produced, while as of December we plan to reach 1.5 mln doses, though our producers will try to reach the production level of 2 mln doses," he said.

"Speaking about next year's production volumes we are to start increasing them many-fold from February, though we will try to do it as early as starting January," the minister added.

On August 11, the Sputnik V vaccine developed by the Gamaleya National Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology was registered by Russia's Health Ministry and became the world's first registered vaccine against COVID-19. As of today, a vaccine developed by the State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology Vector has also been registered in Russia. The cost of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine for international markets will be less than $10 per dose, whereas for Russian citizens vaccination with Sputnik V will be free of charge.
