MOSCOW, January 15. /TASS/. The Chumakov Federal Scientific Center for Research and Development of Immune and Biological Products of the Russian Academy of Sciences may receive a registration certificate for its vaccine against the novel coronavirus infection soon, Head of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing Anna Popova reported within the framework of the Gaidar Forum on Friday.

"The Chumakov Institute soon should receive the registration certificate but the clinic's results are already very good and very impressive," she said.

The top sanitary doctor noted that Russia has a great advantage since it is the only country worldwide that now has three effective vaccines against the coronavirus created on different platforms. "This is an incredible success that we are somehow too shy to demonstrate to the entire world. Three different research teams created three different vaccines, they all are functional and effective <...>. There is no other country like that worldwide that developed its own vaccines - not only were they created in a laboratory but also were given an industrial opportunity to be produced. This is the rarest case, this is unique, and in this sphere our wonderful country is far ahead," she said.

To date, two domestic vaccines against the coronavirus have been registered in Russia, a vaccine developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Russian Healthcare Ministry and a vaccine by the Vector State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing. Soon the registration of a third vaccine developed by the Chumakov Federal Scientific Center is possible.
