Ariane Kilian, Head of Volkswagen Group Refugee Aid, explains: "Since 2015, the Volkswagen Group has supported the integration of refugees in Germany with numerous projects. For Volkswagen, assuming social responsibility is at the heart of its corporate culture. In order for integration to continue to be successful, it is important for us receive new impulses for our work. Therefore, we are delighted that the Missio Truck is represented here in Wolfsburg and gives us all the opportunity to take on a new perspective".
Unlike discussions that argue primarily with numbers, the multimedia exhibition in the Missio Truck focuses on a change of perspective. Using the example of individual fates of civil-war refugees in the East of the Democratic Republic of Congo, the multimedia exhibition in the Missio Truck sensitizes visitors to the exceptional situation of flight and expulsion. Eight biographies exemplify the fate of refugees and displaced persons. Visitors can relive the story of a refugee at play and listening stations. The exhibition is complemented by objects, text panels and participatory offerings.
On the first day of the exhibition at the Wolfsburg plant, the visit is reserved for apprentices, and on the second day for all employees by appointment. From Wednesday, the Missio Truck will stop at the Wolfsburg city center and open its exhibition there.
