Italy’s Eni targets average 3.5%/year oil, gas volume growth to 2025

  • Italy’s Eni expects to grow its oil and gas production by an average of 3.5% a year over the next four years, the company said Friday.
  • Eni has enjoyed a few years of successful exploration, finding major gas fields in waters off Mozambique and in the East Mediterranean with its 30 Tcf Zohr gas field offshore Egypt and a more recent large gas find off Cyprus.
  • With natural gas playing a greater role in Eni’s upstream portfolio, Descalzi said up to 60% of its production will be gas by 2030.

LNG Canada May End Up With Double Its Initial Capacity

  • LNG Canada may end up with a total capacity of 28 million tons of the fuel annually, to be built in two phases, the project’s chief executive told Reuters on the sidelines of CERAWeek.
  • LNG Canada is a project of Shell.
  • Most recently, LNG Canada made headlines when work on the pipeline that would feed natural gas to the B.C. coast liquefaction facility was halted after a couple of indigenous artifacts were found at the construction site.

  • Placed by Samsung Heavy Industries in Korea, the order is for a total of eight HD centrifugal gas compressor, eight oil-free gas screw compressors along with the necessary heaters and vaporisers.
  • The first units will begin shipping from Atlas Copco Gas and Process to the customer at the beginning of October 2019.
  • The new vessels will utilise Atlas Copco’s new oil-free gas screw compressors to feed their XDF engines – a first in the Carrier LNG industry.

Brookfield-led InVIT to buy RIL’s East-West gas pipeline for Rs 13,000 cr

  • New Delhi, Mar 15 () Canadian investor Brookfield-led India Infrastructure Trust (InVIT) has agreed to buy billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s loss-making East-West gas pipeline for Rs 13,000 crore.
  • After this, the existing pipeline usage agreement has been reworked to reduce capacity reserved for RIL gas to 33 million standard cubic meters per day from 56 mmscmd currently.
  • PNGRB had on March 12, approved a 37 per cent rise in tariff from April 1, for the pipeline to Rs 71.66 per million British thermal unit on a gross calorific value basis.
