Gazprom Neft plans to expand list of projects in Iraq in near future – Dyukov

ST.PETERSBURG, June 14. / TASS /. Gazprom Neft sent proposals to the Iraqi side on new assets in the country, and plans to expand the list of its projects in the near future, said the head of the company Alexander Dyukov on Friday.

"We confirmed our interest in a number of projects, we are considering a few. In the near future, we hope that the number of projects will increase," he said.

"We have made our proposals to the Iraqi side now. The proposals are being considered, we are waiting for the Iraqi partners to decide on the format in which access will be provided to the interested parties," added Vadim Yakovlev, first deputy head of the company. According to him, the company may participate in the tender for the Mansuri field, but the decision will be made only after reviewing its conditions.

Earlier it was reported that Gazprom Neft is interested in projects in the field of oil exploration and production (upstream) in Egypt, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Iraq. In particular, in Iraq, the company is interested in a number of projects in Wasit province alongside the already existing project of the company 'Badra'. One of the partners of Gazprom Neft in upstream projects in Egypt, Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Iraq could be the investment company UAE Mubadala. In Iraqi Kurdistan, Gazprom Neft is involved in the implementation of two projects: Shakal and Garmian. Gazprom Neft is involved in the development of the Badra field is mining at the Garmian field. In Wasit, Gazprom Neft is involved in the development of the Badra field. The contract with the Government of Iraq on the development of the field was signed in January 2010 following a tender, the winner of which was recognized by an international consortium, the Russian company is the project operator.
