COVID 19: Portugal update 26 March

  • Portugal has today registered 60 deaths associated with covid-19, 17 more than on Wednesday, and 3,544 cases of infection, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health The epidemiological situation report in Portugal, with data updated until midnight on Wednesday, indicates that the North region is the one with the highest number of deaths (28), followed by the region of Lisbon and the Tagus Valley (18 ), the Centro region (13) and the Algarve (1).
  • There are 3,544 confirmed cases, 549 more (an increase of 18.3%) compared to Wednesday.
  • The barrier of 3,500 cases was overcome the day the covid-19 pandemic mitigation phase came into effect, as determined by the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), involving the entire health system, public and private.
