- The EU Delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been urged to condemn SLAPP suits filed against local activists by a Belgian company over the environmental impact of their hydropower plant on the Kasindolska river.
- The Kasindolska river is located about 20km south of Sarajevo, and BUK d.o.o – a Bosnian company in which Green Invest (a Belgian-based company) is a shareholder – operates one small hydropower plant on the river and plans to build two more.
- Green Invest/BUK d.o.o’.s plant has been working without the necessary permits “for some time” while “making a significant profit at the expense of the river and the communities living next to it,” which goes against EU environmental law.
