- The country’s 150-year-old criminal code will be reformed to feature ecocide and the crime of inciting suicide as part of the reform to modernise and simplify it, Belgian news media reported on Saturday.
- It will come with a 10-20 year sentence and is defined as an unlawful act committed with the knowledge it will cause severe, widespread and long-term damage to the environment.
- The new code will also feature the crime of inciting suicide, adapting it to the reality of social media.
