ANKARA, April 8 (Xinhua) -- Turkey on Wednesday sent medical aid to Balkan countries via a Turkish military aircraft for fighting the novel coronavirus, said the country's Defense Ministry.

Masks, overalls and test kits prepared by the Health Ministry will be delivered to countries including Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and North Macedonia, the Turkish Defense Ministry tweeted on Wednesday.

The first stop will be Serbia, said the ministry.

Turkey earlier delivered medical aid to Italy and Spain, countries in Europe which were heavily hit by the COVID-19 outbreak.
