Freeport LNG addresses another startup mishap as unladen tanker anchors offshore

  • As an unladen tanker anchored nearby Thursday, Freeport LNG was addressing another startup snag, this one involving a ruptured gasket and a mixed-refrigerant drum.
  • Once in operation, it will join Cheniere Energy, Dominion Energy, Sempra Energy and Kinder Morgan in liquefying US shale gas for export to global destinations.
  • The Mitsui- and Kansai Electric Power-owned tanker LNG Jurojin was anchored Thursday afternoon about 70 nautical miles south of the terminal.
