Metro Bank’s top City investor to vote against founder Vernon Hill

  • The UK’s largest money manager has unveiled plans to vote against the re-election of Metro Bank chairman Vernon Hill next week amid rising corporate governance concerns.
  • Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM), which manages £1 trillion worth of assets, took the rare step of announcing which way it intends to vote at next week’s AGM by unveiling plans to rebel against Mr Hill as well as certain members of the audit committee and other directors “whom we have independence concerns”.
