MOSCOW, September 28. /TASS/. The unemployment rate in Russia in August increased by 0.2 percentage points compared to July figures and reached 6.6%, the Bank of Russia said on Monday.
"In August 2020, the decline in employment accelerated, while unemployment increased to 6.6% (July - 6.4%). At the same time, there has been a recovery in labor demand in the labor market: according to polls, for the first time since January 2020, employers' sentiment has not deteriorated," the regulator said.
According to the Bank of Russia, in July 2020, the growth of nominal wages in Russia accelerated to 5.7% in annual terms (in June, the growth was 3.8%). In real terms, wages rose by 2.3% (in June - by 0.6%).
