  • UK consumer prices were 0.6pc higher year-on-year in December, having climbed 0.3pc during the month.
  • Inflation is expected to have picked up in December, although the consensus forecast for 0.5pc consumer price growth year-on-year would be well short of the Bank of England’s 2pc target.
