KHERSON, September 12. /TASS/. Ukrainian forces fired three HIMARS rockets at the Antonovka Bridge near Kherson, regional military-civilian administration deputy head Kirill Stremousov told TASS, noting that the nearby civilian ferry was the actual target of the attack.
"Three HIMARS rockets landed; our [air defense] acted promptly, as usual. […] Once again, they try to hit the ferry, to hit civilians in order to intimidate people," he said.
According to the official, the bridge remains operational, but it is not in use due to its emergency condition.
The Antonovka Bridge is the only car bridge connecting Kherson with the rest of the Kherson Region on the other bank of Dnieper. It has frequently been targeted by Ukrainian forces recently; a ferry crossing has been organized near the damaged bridge.
