- EURACTIV Italy takes a closer look at the updated and longer version of the Five Star Movement’s (M5S) programme.
- Following up on the swathing policies adopted during the pandemic, the party wants the European Central Bank (ECB) to keep the expansive policies it launched during the pandemic for the long-term, and wants to make the NextGeneration EU programme permanent.
- On a more general note, the Five Star Movement also wants EU Treaty reform, particularly to implement the proposals of the Conference on the Future of Europe like abolishing the unanimity principle and increasing the EU’s competences in health, energy, migration, foreign, security and defence policy.
