Bank of Russia to clarify lending forecast for 2022 in late October

MOSCOW, October 11. /TASS/. The Bank of Russia plans to update its lending forecast for 2022 following a meeting of the regulator's board of directors on the key rate at the end of October, according to Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia Alexey Zabotkin.

"The demand to the economy, in terms of total corporate, retail lending, according to our July forecast, will increase by 5-10%. Once again, this forecast will be further refined following the results of the October meeting," he said.

In July, the Bank of Russia improved the forecast for the rate of lending to companies and households for 2022. Thus, according to the latest forecast, the growth rate of lending to the population in 2022 will be 5-10%, while the previous forecast assumed an increase of up to 1%. The growth rate of corporate lending is expected to reach 5-10% in 2022, while the previous forecast had 0-5%. The growth in mortgage lending in Russia in 2022 was projected at the level of 13-18%.
