MOSCOW, June 25. /TASS/. The next round of talks with retailers on data gathering about goods prices in stores is planned for July, head of the Russian statistical agency Rosstat Pavel Malkov told TASS in an interview.

"We are in a dialog with representatives of trading companies. We met the top management of a range of major chains and industry unions. We are ready to proceed to establishment of working groups comprising our staff and representatives of trading companies. By the way, we expect to hold the next round of talks as early as in July, not only with those managing retail stores habitual for us, but also with operators of large Internet platforms," the official said.

The ultimate goal of the statistical agency is to set up remote gathering of goods prices data from administrative sources and the business for automatic computation of the consumer price index. "One of our priority projects is to calculate the consumer price index," Malkov noted.
