FRANKFURT, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index down 79.99 points, or 0.70 percent, to close at 11,412.67 points.
German airlines Lufthansa lost 5.31 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by automotive supplier Continental and semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies, which lost 3.56 percent and 3.54 percent respectively.
Personal-care company Beiersdorf gained 1.43 percent, becoming the top gainer. Telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom and sportswear and equipment maker Adidas advanced 0.76 percent and 0.74 percent respectively.
Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens was the most traded share with a turnover of 288.4 million euros (321.5 million U.S. dollars).
