MOSCOW, June 3. /TASS/. Russian stocks opened higher on Wednesday as the MOEX index edged up by 0.6% to 2,812.82 points, exceeding the 2,800 points mark for the first time since March 5, 2020, while the RTS index gained 1% to 1,290.27 points, according to the trading data as of 10:00 am Moscow time.
Meanwhile, as of 10:14 am the RTS index added 1.8% to 1,300.15 points, exceeding the 1,300 points mark for the first time since March 6. The MOEX index was trading at 2,817.75 points (+0.8%).
As of 10:35 am, stock indexes slowed down growth as the MOEX index was trading at 2,805.38 points (+0.3%), while the RTS index was up by 1.2% at 1,293.21 points.
Russian stocks are rising amid the oil price growth as the price of futures contracts of Brent crude oil for August 2020 delivery is up by 1.7% at $40.26 per barrel on London's ICE, while the price of futures contracts of WTI crude oil is up by 2.4% at $37.93 per barrel.
