Ruble exchange rate weakens after Ryabkov’s statement on possible US sanctions

MOSCOW, 13 January. /TASS/. The ruble weakened against the dollar and the euro on the Moscow Exchange. The Russian currency fell amid a statement by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov that Russia would find alternatives in the event of new US sanctions.

Thus, the dollar rose by 0.4% to 75.01 rubles, the euro - to 85.98 rubles (+0.56%).

The Moscow Exchange Index fell to 3,737.74 points (-2.41%), the RTS index stood at 1,563.13 points (-3.08%).
