Ruble up against dollar, euro as Thursday trading starts on Moscow Exchange

MOSCOW, May 12. /TASS/. The Russian currency strengthened against the dollar and the euro compared with the previous closing as foreign currency trading started on Moscow Exchange on Thursday.

According to trading data as of 10:18 am Moscow time, the dollar exchange rate was down by 0.19% at 67.07 rubles, while the euro exchange rate was down by 0.4% at 70.22 rubles.

As Thursday trading opened on Moscow Exchange the dollar exchange rate lost 27 kopecks compared with the previous closing to 66.93 rubles, while the euro exchange rate added 35.5 kopecks to 71 rubles.

The MOEX Index was down by 0.72% at 2,370.06 points, while the dollar-denominated RTS Index was down by 1.14% at 1,111.09 points, according to trading data as of 10:18 am Moscow time. As trading opened the MOEX was down by 0.2% at 2,382.33 points, while the RTS was down by 0.63% at 1,116.8 points.
