Ruble up against dollar, euro as foreign currency trading starts on MOEX

MOSCOW, August 17. /TASS/. The ruble went up against the dollar and euro compared with previous closing as foreign currency trading started on Moscow Exchange on Wednesday.

As of 10:15 am Moscow time, the dollar exchange rate was down by 0.51% at 60.58 rubles, while the euro exchange rate was down by 0.82% trading at 61.6 rubles.

As trading opened on Moscow Exchange the dollar exchange rate edged up by 0.05% to 60.93 rubles, while the euro exchange rate slipped by 0.01% to 62.11 rubles.

As of 10:15 am the MOEX Index was up by 0.53% at 2,220 points, while the dollar-denominated RTS Index was up by 0.75% at 1,150.66 points. As trading opened at 10:00 am, the MOEX rose by 0.23% to 2,213.43 points, while the RTS added 0.25% to 1,144.94 points.
