Russian stock indices show moderate growth as trading closes on Friday

MOSCOW, August 19. /TASS/. Russian stock indices showed a moderate growth by the end of the week. According to the results of trading on Friday, the MOEX Index rose by 0.04% to 2,195.16 points, the RTS Index went up by 0.71%, up to 1,170.57 points.

"In general, the stock market was not very active," said Natalia Milchakova, lead analyst at Freedom Finance Global.

The dollar-to-ruble rate fell by 0.43% to 59.1 rubles, the euro-to-ruble rate decreased by 0.58% to 59.6 rubles. The price of Brent oil rose by 1.24% to $97.79 per barrel.

On Friday, shares of the following Russian companies were leaders in terms of growth: depositary receipts of the TCS banking holding (+7.6%), shares of the Seligdar gold miner (+5%), depositary receipts of Globaltrans (+2.94 %).

The leaders of the decline were the shares of the Renaissance insurance group (-9.4%), Qiwi (-4.09%), EMC holding (-3.8%).

According to Freedom Finance Global experts, on August 22, the MOEX index will be formed within the range of 2,100-2,200 points. The dollar-to-ruble rate and euro-to-ruble rates are expected to be in the range of 58-61 rubles and 59-62 rubles, respectively.
