MOEX Index up 0.69%, RTS Index up 0.25% as trading closes on Monday

MOSCOW, September 5. /TASS/. Russian market indices ended the trading session on Monday with an upward trend. The ruble-denominated MOEX Russia Index grew by 0.69% to record-high 2,488.44 points on the Moscow Exchange. The dollar-denominated RTS Index added 0.25% and reached 1,287.78 points.

The dollar moved up by 0.29% to 60.87 rubles by the end of the trading session. The euro went down by 0.71% and amounted to 60.12 rubles by the close of business.

The price of a Brent oil futures rose by 3.6% to $96.31 per barrel following the decision of the ministers of the OPEC+ member countries to reduce oil production quotas by 100,000 barrels per day from October 1. Gold price fell 0.01% on Monday to $1,722.4 a troy ounce.

On Monday, the leaders in terms of growth were the shares of the of the following companies: Russneft (+11%), Polymetal Group (+9.4%), OGK-2 (+7%).

On Monday, ordinary and preferred %) shares of Sberbank declined by 2% and 1.4% respectively after the company announced that it had completed the conversion of depositary receipts into shares, EMC depositary receipts fell by 1/7% without news.

On Tuesday, September 6, Freedom Finance Global analysts expect the MOEX index to remain in the range of 2,400 - 2,500 points, the dollar and euro rates against the ruble are seen in the range of 60-63 rubles.
